Eleven goldsmiths from the province of Alessandria have represented the Italian region of Piedmont at theSingapore International Jewelry Expo, one of South East Asia’s most important trade shows. Over the last few years, Singapore has seen rapid growth in the luxury goods sector, and in jewellery in particular, and is also establishing a position as an important gateway for neighbouring countries, notably China and India, but also Australia, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand. Until Sunday, the creations of eleven Piedmontese jewellery makers (C&C Gioielli, Gabriella Rivalta, Garavelli Aldo, Lenti, Lenti&Villasco, Mangiarotti, Ofir, Orital, Orsini, Orotrend, RCM) have been on display at the Expo to capture the attention of wealthy international buyers. The event had the support of a video produced by Amapola for the Gruppo Aziende Orafe Valenzane of Confindustria Alessandria and for the Alessandria Chamber of Commerce, using the power of images to promote the area and its excellences. The images were filmed by videomakers Lucio Laugelli and Errico D’andrea at the “Valenza Gioielli” exhibition. One section of the video offers the viewer the opportunity to enter a goldsmith’s laboratory to see how an article of jewellery is created, from the original sketch to production and display. ]]>
