Measuring companies’ environmental, social and governance performance will soon be possible thanks to the project to be presented on Wednesday 27 March at the Aula Magna of Istat in Rome. Developed by Istat and the CSR Manager Network, the association of sustainability managers from top Italian business organisations, the project aims to identify key indicators and define computational protocols in order to increase the comparability of disclosures in sustainability reports.

The project will be presented at the conference entitled “Enterprises and collective well-being: statistics meets Corporate Social Responsibility”, attended by CSR managers from a number of Italian companies. The event will be an important opportunity to compare notes and discuss possible future developments.

The meeting will be opened by Istat president Enrico Giovannini and by Fulvio Rossi, President of the CSR Manager Network, while the project details will be illustrated by Mario Molteni, director of Altis-Alta Scuola Impresa e Società of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

A debate will be held during the morning on putting CSR into practice (Dietro i numeri: la Corporate Social Responsibility in pratica), moderated by Rossella Bocciarelli, Il Sole 24 Ore, with the participation of Angelo Riccaboni, University of Siena, Silvio de Girolamo, Autogrill, Marina Donati, Assicurazioni Generali, Marina Migliorato, Enel, Marisa Parmigiani, Unipol Group, Gianluca Principato, Hera Group, Fulvio Rossi, Terna, Giovanni Alfredo Barbieri, Istat. The proceedings will be closed by Roberto Monducci, director of the Istat department for national accounts and economic statistics.
